On Tuesday the team helped Fran unload about 1,000 pounds of food for the Willow food pantry. Frozen chicken, pinto beans, canned fruit, eggs, milk, cereal, butter, and bread were among the foods that will be distributed later this week. The pantry serves approximately 160 families per month from the Willow area and will be open today (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Children will also be given lunch as part of the food pantry program.
Part of our team also cut firewood again for local families. It's dirty, tiring work but we made great progress on a huge wood pile and several families will be warm this coming winter.
Work on the flower beds around the church also continues. Note the mosquito nets that making working outside tolerable.
