Youth Choir Tour Departs Next Week

54 youth and adults will travel to Philadelphia for Church Street’s annual Parish Youth Choir Tour, June 1-7. The choir will sing on Sunday, June 2 at America’s oldest Methodist church building, St. George’s UMC in downtown Philadelphia.
Other concert stops on the choir tour include:
  •   Wesley Enhanced Living – Pennypack Park (a retirement community)
  •   Simpson House (America’s oldest retirement community historically related to the United Methodist Church)
  •   SpArc Philadelphia (an adult day program for 300 adults with disabilities.)
  •   Beaumont at Bryn Mawr (a retirement community with its own pipe organ.)

The choir tour will also include a day trip into New York City. While in the city, the group will spend time sight-seeing and attend the Broadway musical Wicked.  Back in Philadelphia the choir will visit the Battleship New Jersey, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, see Cirque de Soleil – Totem at the Camden Waterfront, and Jerome Lawrence & Robert E. Lee’s play Inherit the Wind at the Bristol Riverside Theatre. The group will be housed at Eastern University for each of the six nights.
Please pray for this group as they represent God and our church.  The choir will present their music in both worship services at Church Street on Sunday, June 9.
