As we move quickly toward Lent our annual Winter Carnival/Mardi Gras celebration will take place in the gym on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 4-4:45 p.m. Children will enjoy simple carnival games with crazy prizes, beads will be worn, and festive music will fill the gym as we enjoy one final afternoon of frivolity before the solemn days of Lent begin.
A dozen or more adults or youth are needed to assist with games so that everyone can have a chance to have fun and play. Please volunteer for this short, fun-filled hour by contacting Sue Isbell at the church.
At 4:45 p.m. we will move to the breezeway where our pastors will lead us in the burning of the palms from last year’s Palm Sunday parade. The ashes from the palms will serve as the basis for our Ash Wednesday observance on February 13. Everyone, not just children, is invited to participate. The festivities will continue at Sunday Supper in Parish Hall. Please make dinner reservations through the church office by calling 524-3048 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
